John DeCesare, President
John DeCesare is the President of Celerity Embedded Design Services, LLC since its inception in July 2007. John has over 25 years of experience in product design. In 1987, he began his career at GTECH Corporation in Rhode Island as an Electrical Design Engineer responsible for developing products used in the gaming business. While at GTECH, John was also responsible for managing the communication group which included products such as data radios, modems and satellite systems. In 1998, John took a position at Excel Switching Corporation managing the VoIP Hardware Design Team. In 1999, Excel was purchased by Lucent Technologies where John became Director of Hardware Engineering. After a successful spin-out of Lucent, Excel then combined with BrookTrout Technology and SnowShore Media to form Cantata Technologies where John was responsible for Cantata’s entire hardware development team. Although managing a large design team, John was also very active in the design phase and currently holds multiple patents. John graduated from Trinity College in Hartford, CT with his degree in Electrical Engineering and has completed coursework at Brown University.
Octavio Amaral, Vice President, CTO
Octavio Amaral is the Vice President and co-founder of Celerity Embedded Design Services, LLC. Octavio has over 13 years of experience in embedded and consumer product design. Octavio earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth in 1995. He began his career at Excel Switching and by 1996 was responsible for managing the component engineering team comprised of several engineers. Octavio went on to hold Senior and Principle Engineering positions within Excel Switching and was responsible for multiple designs relating to the CSP platform. While at Lucent, Octavio was responsible for designing the distributed processor blades for Lucent’s initial Softswitch release. Most recently Octavio helped design Cantata’s IMG1010 platform and was awarded a US patent for its redundancy architecture.
Celerity Embedded Design Services, LLC
Celerity was founded in July 2007 formed from a select team of engineers from Cantata Technology. Celerity supports a variety of engineering disciplines including electrical, mechanical, industrial design and CAD/PCB engineering. The Celerity design team has over 50 years of product design experience in a wide range of technologies. Along with state of the arts development tools, Celerity can provide high quality, cost effective product design and support.
